Community Advisor

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and running Yellow Bird's "Health and Wellness Program" & "Peer Mentorship Program" under the guidance and direction of the Managing Director
  • Planning and implementing instruction in Life Skills, Nutrition, & Cooking based on curricular expectations
  • Supervising and coaching clients during community-based activities
  • Providing small group reading, math, and technology lessons for extended day clients
  • Providing transportation one to two days per week for clients using a company vehicle

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older to apply
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Services, Education, or a related field
  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License 
  • Criminal Background Check required
  • Motor Vehicle Check required
  • Must be able to work Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Required attendance at periodic training sessions on Friday mornings
  • Preferred teaching experience, but not required
  • Must be flexible, a team player, and maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with clients!

Program Driver

Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and drop-off young adults with developmental disabilities throughout the Denver Metro Area to and from their homes and community-based locations
  • Provide a positive and responsive environment within a vehicle, including hosting conversations, modeling respectful interactions, and creating a peaceful and relaxing space
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all clients during transport
  • Ability to arrive at and access a shared car within the Denver Metro Area

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older to apply
  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License 
  • Criminal Background Check required
  • Motor Vehicle Check required
  • Must be able to work Monday to Thursday split shifts 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM & 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM
  • Must engage in paid trainings including Defensive Driving, First Aid, CPR, and other applicable learning experiences
  • Preferred Experience with other Car Sharing / Taxi Services, such as Lyft or Uber, but not required
  • Must be flexible, a team player, and maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with clients!
